NAC Meeting - April 16, 2008
The NAC will be having its next meeting on April 16, 2008 at the Medallion Hall Hotel at 10.00 AM. The meeting will focus on the scope, content and format of the final NAC Report among other issues.
Technical cooperation between Jamaica and international local government organizations is in earnest. Mr. Winston Cramer, Consultant with the Commonwealth Secretariat is presently in the island and will be working with MLGE to deepen local democracy .
Democratic
local governance is being increasingly and universally accepted
as being of critical importance and value to the hope of achieving
many of the goals which most countries have at the top of
their national agendas. These goals include the following
balanced and sustainable development, good governance; an
improved quality of life for the mass of the world's population,
and an inclusive society in which all traditionally marginalized
groups/sectors are brought into the mainstream of society.
